Gardens & Arboretums in Birmingham

If you're after gardens to wander around Birmingham, there's only one on the list so far, but it's a good one. Wightwick Manor and Gardens is out at Wolverhampton, a bit of a drive from the centre, and it's worth it for the orchards, pools and formal planting around the Arts and Crafts house. Entry starts from £9, and there's a cafe on site if you fancy making a full afternoon of it. It's an outdoor spot with toilets, parking and a picnic area, so it suits a slow wander rather than a quick dash. Dogs are welcome too, and there's a gift shop for anyone who likes to take a bit of the garden home. Wheelchair access is in place, which helps if pushchairs or wheels are part of your day out. Worth building a whole trip around, given how far out it is.
