Art & Craft Classes in Birmingham
If your kids like getting stuck in with paint and mess, Birmingham's got a couple of good options close to the centre. ChromaticAF, about a kilometre out, is a one-hour splatter paint session from £25, open from age 3, and they've built in a calmer sensory-friendly version for kids who'd struggle with the full chaos. Friction Arts, a couple of kilometres out, runs a free visual art club and foundation course for young people aged 8 and up, taught by working artists. For something adults-only, Art for Life in Sutton Coldfield does drawing and painting for grown-ups, from a ten-week course in composition and portraiture to one-off printmaking and pastel sessions, and there's food on site if you want to make an afternoon of it. If you're after free, Friction Arts is the one to book. If you want an easy hour with younger kids, ChromaticAF's booking system and party option make it simple to plan around. Sutton Coldfield's the one for a proper adults' class.
