What it’s like

A straightforward swim session in the leisure pool, with sauna and steam room for the adults once the kids are sorted.

Swimming is the main event here, a leisure pool session that runs 40 minutes, so it's more of a splash than a lazy afternoon. That's plenty for a younger kid but you'll want to time it so you're not still drying off when the whistle goes. Kids under 16 swim for £3.80, adults £5.10, which feels fair for a straight pool session.

The sauna and steam room are adults only, under 16s aren't permitted, so this isn't somewhere to plan a family wind-down together. If you fancy it yourself, £7.20 gets you a swim plus sauna and steam, or £4.20 for sauna and steam on their own, worth doing while someone else has the kids in the pool. The pool, steam room and sauna are open from 8:30am to 9pm, with last entry an hour before closing at 8:15pm.

There's indoor seating and toilets on site, which covers you if you're waiting for a session or drying off afterwards. It suits younger kids well given the short session length, and older ones who are happy with a quick, focused swim rather than a whole afternoon in the water.
