What it’s like
A theatre for panto, workshops and family shows, with a bistro café on site for lunch before curtain up.
The big draw here is the panto, and for 2026 that means Beauty & The Beast at £17.50 a ticket. That's the one to book early if you want decent seats, since panto season tends to sell out the good rows first. Outside of panto time there are family shows too, though those come in dearer at £23.50, which stings a bit more if you're bringing more than two.
If you want to test whether your kids will actually sit through a show before committing panto money, the workshops are the cheap way in at £6.50. There's also comedy on the bill at £17.50 a ticket, which is more one for a night without the kids than a family afternoon.
The Spinning Top café and bar does a bistro-style menu, soups, sandwiches, burgers and salads, so you can get a proper lunch in rather than just crisps from the foyer. It only runs Tuesday to Saturday though, 10am to 3pm early week and till 5pm on Friday and Saturday, so a Sunday matinee means eating elsewhere first.
The building itself is wheelchair accessible with a lift, designated wheelchair seats in the auditorium, and a Changing Places facility, which not every theatre bothers with. High chairs are on site too if you've got a toddler in tow for a workshop or a daytime show.
