What it’s like
A theatre and cinema in Lochgelly where kids can catch a panto, a film or a dance show, then grab a bake in the café.
This one's less about a big attraction and more about what's on. Films run at £5, which is proper pocket-money cinema, and there's music, dance and comedy on top if your kids are old enough to sit through a show. The panto is the one to build a day round. Snow White starts from £16.50 and Sleeping Beauty from £18.50, which isn't cheap once you've added the booking fee, but panto season is the sort of thing kids remember long after they've forgotten what else you did that Christmas. The Snowman - Live! starts from £9.50, a gentler option if a full panto feels like too much.
Outside of shows there's a library to duck into if you want to pad out a visit rather than just turn up for a performance and leave. The building has a step-free entrance into Row A, though the other rows are reached by stairs, so it's worth thinking about where you book if a wheelchair or a buggy is involved. High chairs are on hand in the café too.
The café does breakfast and light lunches, with children's portions available. One faff worth flagging: there's a £1.50 booking fee per ticket on most purchases, though it doesn't apply to cinema, classes or courses, and tickets can't be refunded or exchanged unless the show itself is cancelled.
Box office hours are shorter than the venue's own opening times, mornings and evenings on weekdays with a gap in between, and just a half day on Saturday. The venue itself is open 9am to 9pm Monday to Saturday.
