What it’s like

An indoor play session built around a role-play village, ball pit and climbing wall, with two hours on the clock once you're in.

The main pull here is the role-play village, a little set-up with its own police station, fire station and repair shop, plus a light-up slide and a ball pit rigged with air blasters and projection games. There's a climbing wall and giant foam blocks too, and a basketball court if your lot need something a bit more physical than posting balls into a net. For a one-year-old right up to a ten-year-old there's enough spread across the multi-level structure to keep most ages busy, though the reading corner is there if someone needs a sit-down.

You get two hours from the door and they mean it, time limits are enforced properly, so don't turn up expecting to drift in and out. A child over two is £8.95 midweek in term time, rising to £9.95 at weekends and holidays, with one adult going in free per paying child and extra adults £2 each. Grip socks are compulsory for kids and adults alike, £1.50 at reception if you forget yours, which is a small but annoying add-on if you've already paid full price to get in.

Weekday sessions you can generally just walk up to, but weekends and school holidays they recommend booking ahead to guarantee a slot. There's a café doing chicken nuggets, fish fingers and pizzas for both kids and adults, though you can't bring outside food or drink into a normal play session, only birthday cake and cold food if you've got the party room. There's no on-site car park, just free street parking and a couple of car parks on Church Road nearby, and it's worth knowing the upper floors have no lift if you're pushing a buggy or need step-free access throughout.

Birthday parties run £14.50 a child Monday to Thursday and £16.50 Friday to Sunday and holidays, covering about an hour twenty of play and forty minutes in the party room, with a meal, unlimited cordial and a return play voucher good for two months thrown in. It's not entertainer-led, staff just help coordinate, and they take a 30% deposit upfront which doesn't come back if plans change.
