Day ticket coarse fishing for carp, tench, bream and chub, open 7am to 7pm, but under 18s aren't admitted without an adult.

This is a day ticket water for carp, tench, bream, F1s, barbel, ide and chub, and it runs on rules that keep it fairly serious. No keep nets, no barbed hooks, no floating or nut baits, and you'll need your own landing net, so it's not a spot to turn up unequipped and hope for the best.

A day ticket is £8, and the site opens at 7am year round, running through to 7pm in summer and closing half an hour before dark once autumn and winter draw in. There's a food hut open 8am to 4pm doing breakfast, barms, pies and cold drinks, though the site itself flags that it's not always manned and suggests texting your order ahead, which is a nice touch if you don't fancy walking back to the car for a bacon barm.

Under 18s aren't allowed on site without an adult, or without parental contact details on file, so this isn't one for sending a teenager off alone with a rod. Adults planning a proper session should know the match lake gets taken over for competitions occasionally.
