What it’s like

Bowling, pool, beer pong and shuffleboard under one roof, with a family package if you want the lot without adding it up.

Bowling's the anchor but it's not really the point here. Once you've had your game there's pool, darts, ping pong, shuffleboard and a run of retro arcade cabinets, plus eight carnival style games to work through if the kids have got the patience for it. A lane holds up to seven, so it works for one big group rather than splitting into twos and threes.

The packages are where the sense is. Bowling on its own is £9.50 a head, but stack it with a second or third game and it drops to £13 or £18 per person off-peak, and there's a Family Bowling package at £25 if you want to stop doing mental arithmetic at the till. Food covers burgers and sharing platters alongside the cocktails and draught beers, and any package that includes food comes with a table booked for the whole group, though you can't book a table on its own outside a package.

Walk-ins are fine but booking ahead is the sensible move, especially for a bigger group, since everything runs on availability rather than guaranteed slots. Worth knowing before you commit: children under 14 need constant adult supervision throughout, and the venue switches to over-18s only after 7pm with ID checks, so an evening bowling trip with kids needs to be an earlier one. Bookings are non-refundable too, which stings if plans change.

Hours shift around the week, opening at 4pm on weekdays but as early as 11am on Saturdays, and school holidays and Bank Holidays bring earlier weekday openings too. That gives you a decent window for a daytime session without bumping into the adults-only cutoff.
