What it’s like

A members' club with a kids' splash pool, soft play and LEGO Squad, where family swim slots sit between adult-only sessions.

Joining a club to go swimming sounds odd until you see the list. There's a 25-metre indoor pool, a separate splash pool for kids, and a heated outdoor pool for the warmer months, plus soft play areas and a under-5s zone for the smaller ones. Older children get tennis on ten courts, padel, badminton, pickleball and football, and the kids' clubs run as LEGO Squad, Scooter Squad and family play sessions alongside swimming lessons and coaching.

The catch is that you're buying a membership, not a day ticket, and the extra kids' services cost more on top. The site says the creche, Kids Club and coaching are all supplementary, so factor that in before you compare it with a pay-as-you-go pool. Pool times are also split into family and adult-only sessions, so the family windows are narrower than the full opening times suggest. Worth knowing if your only reason for joining is a weekend splash about.

Food is sorted on site: the Clubroom does breakfast, lunch and dinner, and there's a kids' menu. Parking is free, which takes one annoyance off the table, and local buses stop nearby with the city centre and Great Barr both easy to reach. Birthday parties are on the list too if you'd rather someone else ran the chaos. Membership types vary, so what you get depends on the one you pick.

Plan your visit

Do we have to be members?

Yes, it's a members' club rather than a drop-in pool. You can join online or book a tour to look round first.

What's included in a membership?

Depending on the type you choose, you'll get the gym, swimming pool, spa, racquets courts, exercise classes and the Clubroom.

Is the kids' club included?

The creche, Kids Club and coaching are supplementary services and cost extra.

Can we swim as a family?

Pool time is split into family and adult-only sessions, so the family windows are limited. Check the timetable for your club before you commit.

What can the kids actually do there?

A 25-metre indoor pool, a splash pool, a heated outdoor pool in season, soft play, an under-5s area, and tennis, padel, badminton, pickleball and football.

Is there anything for under-fives?

There's a splash pool, soft play areas and a dedicated under-5s area, plus family play sessions.

What's the food like?

The Clubroom serves breakfast, lunch and dinner with drinks, and there's a kids' menu.

Is parking free?

Free on-site parking. Local buses stop nearby as well.

Can we hold a birthday party there?

Birthday parties are one of the things the club lists, so it's worth asking when you enquire about membership.

Do they run swimming lessons?

Swimming lessons and coaching for kids are both on the list, charged as an extra on top of membership.
