What it’s like
A working farm with animal paddocks, a zip wire and a giant adventure playground, plus seasonal events like Lambing Live and the Pumpkin Patch.
This is a proper working farm rather than a static petting zoo, so the animal paddocks sit alongside a giant adventure playground, a zip wire and go karts. There's also a fairy trail for the smaller ones and giant bouncers for anyone who needs to get some height. Toddler Time sessions bring in messy play, which is a nice touch if you've got an under-fives in tow who isn't ready for the zip wire yet.
The site runs seasonal events through the year, Pumpkin Patch, a Maize Maze, Lambing Live, an Easter Egg Trail and a Christmas Experience among them. These are the bits that get booked up, and the farm says as much, so if you're planning around one of those it's worth sorting your ticket online rather than turning up and hoping. Outside of peak times you can just walk in and pay on the gate, and there's a discount for booking online anyway.
The Cow Shed Café does breakfast until half eleven, lunch from midday to three, and drinks and ice cream all day. Burgers are made from the farm's own beef, and there are vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free and dairy-free options, though they're upfront that it's a shared kitchen so cross-contamination is a risk if that matters to you. Tables can't be reserved, which is a minor faff if you're turning up as a big group at lunchtime.
Being a working farm on natural ground means some areas aren't wheelchair accessible, though the cafes, outside barns and the adventure play area are. Parking is free with an overflow car park and dedicated disabled parking near the entrance. Dogs on leads are welcome in parts of the farm, the cafe ground floor and the fun farm, but not in the animal paddocks or the Toddler Time areas.

Plan your visit
Do we need to book?
Not for a normal visit, you can turn up and pay on the gate outside of peak times. For seasonal events like Lambing Live or the Pumpkin Patch they do recommend booking online as those sell out, and Bubbles and Bop sessions need booking as spaces are limited.
What are the opening hours?
10am to 5pm every day, term time and weekends alike. They're open every day during school holidays too, apart from Christmas Day and Boxing Day.
Is there parking?
Free on site parking plus an overflow car park, with disabled parking close to the main entrance.
What food is there?
The Cow Shed Café does breakfast until 11.30, lunch from 12 to 3, and drinks, cakes and ice cream all day. Burgers are made from the farm's own beef and there are vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free and dairy-free options.
Can we bring dogs?
Well-behaved dogs on leads are welcome in the cafe ground floor and most of the fun farm, but not in the animal paddocks or Toddler Time areas. You'll need to clean up after them, obviously.
Is it accessible for wheelchairs and pushchairs?
The cafes, outside barns and the adventure play area are accessible, but some parts of the farm have uneven ground that isn't wheelchair friendly. Fast track entry is available if you pre-book.
What happens if my child is running late or we miss our slot?
Your ticket covers the full day, so an arrival time is just a guide for them to manage numbers. Turn up whenever and you're still in.
Can I change or cancel my booking?
Tickets are non-refundable and non-transferable, though you can reschedule through your account if you booked online. Exceptions are down to the manager's discretion.
Do you cater for allergies?
Vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free options are available including gluten-free cake and cones, and dairy-free sorbet. It's a shared kitchen though, so they can't rule out cross-contamination.
Do you do birthday parties?
Yes, birthday parties are listed among the things on offer here.
