What it’s like
A small Birmingham gallery running family workshops around creativity, community and culture through painting and storytelling.
This isn't a big hands-on museum with buttons to press. It's a gallery space that puts on workshops with a proper theme behind them, one celebrating creativity and care for the planet, another built around Afghan and Syrian women and children exploring culture and identity through painting. If your kids get something out of making things and talking about them rather than just running about, this is more their speed than most.
It's open Tuesday to Saturday, 12 to 6pm, which rules out a Sunday plan but gives you a decent midweek option if you're after something other than soft play on a rainy Wednesday. There's no booking link listed, so you'd want to ring ahead if you want to check a workshop's actually on before you turn up.
Access is a bit of a mixed bag. The ground floor is fully wheelchair accessible, but the first floor is stairs only with no lift, so if part of what you want to see or do is upstairs and you've got a buggy or a wheelchair, that's worth factoring into your day.
