What it’s like
Small-scale rides for the under-tens, tucked into Cannon Hill Park, with a spinning coaster and a proper little land train.
This is a fun fair, not a theme park, and that's exactly the point if you've got a seven-year-old who isn't ready for the big stuff yet. New York Express and the Spinning Coaster are the ones they'll ask for twice, and Mini Miami and Busy Bees give the smaller kids somewhere to go that isn't just standing about watching their older siblings. The Circus Circus Tower Ride and the Jumping Boots Ride round it out, and most of it sits comfortably in that 0 to 10 bracket rather than trying to impress teenagers.
Food is sorted without much fuss. There's a kiosk right at the Fun Park for the emergency ice cream, and if you want to sit down properly the Garden Tea Room or Bridges Cafe at the MAC building are a short walk. The MAC also has an Arena Bar, though that's more use to you after the kids are in bed than during the day.
Parking is the one bit that stings a little. There are four car parks dotted around, Queen's Ride, Queen's Ride South, Russell Road and one by the Wildlife Conservation Centre, and every single one charges. If you can get there on the bus instead, routes 45, 47, 61 and 63 all stop about five minutes' walk off, which saves the faff of hunting for a space on a busy Saturday.
Access is properly thought through in the MAC building, with level or ramped routes, lifts and accessible toilets on every floor, and disabled parking too. The one catch is the baby change and disabled facilities block at the Fun Park itself, which isn't currently available, so factor that in if you're relying on it.

Plan your visit
What's there for a toddler?
Busy Bees and Mini Miami are pitched at the smaller kids, and the Jumping Boots Ride is open to all ages, so a two or three-year-old isn't just sat watching.
How much does a birthday party cost?
£15 a child gets you 60 minutes of unlimited rides plus the land train, minimum 10 kids or £150 flat. Fancy a room to yourselves after? That's another £50 for the party room.
Is there proper food or just snacks?
Kiosk at the Fun Park for the quick stuff, then the Garden Tea Room or Bridges Cafe at the MAC if you want to actually sit down.
Where do we park?
Four options nearby, Queen's Ride, Queen's Ride South, Russell Road and the Wildlife Conservation Centre car park, and they all charge, so no free lunch there.
Can we get there without a car?
Bus routes 45, 47, 61 and 63 drop you five minutes' walk away on Pershore Road or Bristol Road, which beats circling for a parking space.
Is it wheelchair friendly?
The MAC building's sorted, with ramps, lifts and accessible toilets on every level, plus its own disabled parking. The baby change and disabled facilities block at the Fun Park itself is out of action though.
What happens if it rains?
Rides can close in bad weather, so a wet, windy day isn't the one to plan a special trip around.
What age is this actually for?
Rides run 0 to 10, so it's built for primary school kids rather than teenagers looking for thrills.
