What it’s like
An 18+ prison-themed cocktail lock-up where you smuggle in your own spirits and get cast into a two-hour heist story.
This one's for the adults only, so leave the kids with a babysitter. You get handed an orange jumpsuit (sizes XS to 4XL, and yes you can tie the arms round your waist if it's roasting), get banged up in a cell with your group, and spend the next hour and forty-five minutes working through a storyline with actors playing the Warden, the guards and a fellow inmate called Cassidy. There's a bit of a performance element to it, missions to solve and roles within your gang, and you can even pay £11 to be cast as a secret character if you fancy more of a starring part.
The catch, and it's a proper one, is that you have to bring your own bottle of spirits, sealed and unopened, because the £44 Rookie ticket price only covers the mixers and the mixology. Four cocktails get made from whatever you smuggle in, and if you're not drinking there are mocktails instead so nobody's left out of the ritual of getting your drink handed over by a "guard". It's a decent bit of theatre for the price of a big night out, though £44 before you've even bought the vodka does sting a little.
Groups don't always get their own cell. A cell holds six or seven, one ticket doesn't guarantee one cell to yourselves, and if it's busy or your group's smaller than that you might be sharing with strangers, which is either a laugh or a mild faff depending on your mood that night. Bookings can't be refunded or cancelled outright, only rescheduled, and the notice period is 48 hours for small groups and 96 hours if there are six or more of you, so don't leave the planning to the last minute.
It runs most days bar Monday, with the later evening slots stretching to gone eleven on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays, and a shorter Sunday afternoon window if you'd rather not be out that late. It's also set up for hen dos, birthdays and corporate do's, with customisable storylines if you're booking as a group event.

Plan your visit
Is this suitable for kids?
No, it's 18 and over only, so this is an adults' night out rather than a family one.
How much does it cost?
The Rookie ticket is £44. Being cast as a secret character costs an extra £11 on top.
Do we need to bring our own alcohol?
You need to bring a sealed, unopened bottle of spirits. They'll only accept unopened bottles, and the four cocktails you get are made using what you bring.
What if someone doesn't drink?
They still get the full experience and four mocktails instead of cocktails, made without needing to bring anything.
How long does it last?
One hour 45 minutes from when you're locked up to when you're released.
Can I cancel if plans change?
There are no refunds or cancellations, but you can reschedule with 48 hours notice for groups of five or under, or 96 hours for six or more.
Will our group sit together?
Not always. Cells fit six to seven people, so larger groups might be split across cells and smaller groups might share with strangers when it's busy.
Is it wheelchair accessible?
The Liverpool cell block is fully accessible. If you're attending with a wheelchair user, they ask you to get in touch using your booking number.
