Garden Centres in Nottingham

Most garden centres near Nottingham are really about a slow wander and a decent cup of tea. Notcutts Wheatcroft in Edwalton is close in, with plant halls, a restaurant and a gift shop for that kind of visit. Moores Nurseries out at Stanton-on-the-Wolds has a proper café, free parking and free treasure hunts for kids, which helps if you have got young ones in tow but nothing built specifically for play. East Bridgford Garden & Home is the one that changes the equation, with soft play, two restaurants and a Christmas grotto under one roof, and it is set up for ages 0 to 12. If you just want plants and a browse, Floralands in Lambley is free to look round with a small gift shop, and Trowell Garden Centre has two cafés for lunch either side of shopping. Southwell has two options: Hollybeck with its Topiary Tearoom, and Reg Taylor's, where garden centre entry is free but the swan sanctuary next door costs extra. For a day where the children need something to do, East Bridgford is the obvious pick; for everyone else, pick whichever café sounds best.
