What it’s like
Free-to-browse garden centre near Nottingham for a quick look at plants and a nose round the gift shop.
This one's not built for a big day out with the kids, and it doesn't pretend to be. It's a garden centre: plants, garden sundries, a gift shop to poke around in. Entry's free, so there's no pressure to make a morning of it if your three-year-old lasts ten minutes before asking to leave.
Nip in, let them look at whatever's flowering, grab something daft from the gift shop, nip out again. It suits a shorter visit more than a big day out, and it's the sort of stop that works well tacked onto something else you're doing nearby.
Opening hours are generous on weekdays and Saturday, 8:30am to 5pm both, then Sunday trims back to 10am till 4pm. No need to book, you just turn up in opening hours.
