Board Game & Play Cafés in Stoke-on-Trent
Stoke has more of a role play and mini golf scene than a classic board game café, but there's still plenty to book in for. Adventure Mini Village, close to the centre, is a shoes-off village of role play rooms from a vet clinic to a pottery kiln, sold in two-hour sessions from £3.50. The Clubhouse Stoke in Newcastle-under-Lyme is free to enter and puts an 18-hole indoor crazy golf course in a basement bar alongside table tennis, darts and karaoke rooms. Out at Newcastle, Apple Tree Town lets children up to about 10 run a shop, get a haircut and play vet. For toddlers, Doddy's Soft Play Cafe (a longer trip out to Stafford) does bubbles, a ball pit and soft play from £8.50, though it's card only and won't let you bring your own food. If you want the mini village booked for a party, Adventure Mini Village and Apple Tree Town both do birthdays. Fancy something less play-based, more sit-down? The Packing House Café near the centre does a proper afternoon tea with a children's version, from £12.95, right by the canal.
