What it’s like
A mini town where kids shop, get a haircut and play vet, built for children up to about 10.
Your kids don't just play here, they run the place. There's a supermarket to shop in, a salon for pretend haircuts, a village shop, a vet for the cuddly patients and a little theatre putting on a play. It's role-play rather than climbing frames and slides, so it suits kids who like pretending to be grown-up more than kids who want to burn off big energy on soft play equipment. There's a small baby area too, with baby toys and soft equipment, so a non-walker has somewhere to sit while an older sibling runs the till at the shop.
Term-time weekdays you get stay-and-play, no clock watching. Weekends and school holidays it's a two-hour timed session instead, which is worth knowing if you were planning a lazy all-day visit. Prices depend on when you go: an adult and child comes to £12.95 in term time off-peak or £13.95 at weekends and holidays, with extra children a bit cheaper and extra adults just £3. You don't have to book, though during peak times they'd rather you did, and walk-ins are only let in if there's space.
The café does coffee, cake, pizza, jacket potatoes and kids' hot meals, but you can't bring your own food or drink in, bar allergy needs you've flagged with staff. Parking's free and there's a bit over the road for when the main car park fills up on a busy Saturday, which by the sound of it happens. The whole town is built with wheelchair access in mind, and there's a dedicated pushchair space in the café.
If it's a birthday you're after, parties get a two-hour slot with a host, a party throne, food and unlimited drinks, plus a free return visit thrown in. Exclusive hire is available too if you want the whole town to yourselves.
