What it’s like

This one's aimed squarely at the very young. The play zones are built for 0 to 5 year olds, with baby-friendly bits worked in, so it's not the place for a seven-year-old wanting a big frame to conquer, but for a toddler who just wants to launch themselves into a ball pit and chase bubbles round the room, it's spot on.
It's £8.50 covering both child and adult, which is a straightforward way to price it even if it stings a bit more than a child-only ticket would. Sessions run in set slots booked online, and while they say you can walk in, booking first is clearly the safer bet if you want a guaranteed spot rather than turning up and hoping.
The café does artisan coffee, homemade treats, brunch and paninis, with veggie and vegan options on the menu, which is more than the usual soft play tray of chips. The catch is you can't bring your own food or drink in, everything has to be bought there, and it's card only, so leave the cash at home. Parking's free on site and they say it is fully accessible for buggies, prams and wheelchairs, so getting in the door with a double buggy shouldn't be a fight.
