What it’s like
An outdoor splash park with water play features for a couple of quid, open 10am to 5pm every day, with unlimited entry once you're in.
Water play features are the whole point here, and at £2.63 for a child it's one of those prices that makes you wonder why you'd bother going anywhere else on a warm day. It's outdoor, so you're at the mercy of the sky, but once you're in that's it for the day, unlimited entry, no clock-watching or worrying you've not had your money's worth.
It suits the younger end best, from about a year old up to twelve, though the older kids in that range will find their own games with the water features soon enough while the little ones just splash about happily. Bring your own towels and a change of clothes, obviously.
There's a café on site, Clara's Kiosk, doing snacks if you don't fancy carrying a picnic, but picnics are allowed too if you'd rather bring your own food and make a proper afternoon of it. Parking is right next to the park at Melrose Pay & Display on Knightstone Road, which is about as convenient as it gets.
It's open all week, 10am to 5pm. Group bookings are catered for if you're thinking of taking more than your own crew.
