What it’s like
A big indoor arena in Weston-super-Mare for smashing up a rage room, chasing laser quest and having a go at axe throwing.
This is one for the older kids, or the ones who fancy themselves a bit destructive. Rage rooms are the headline act: hand your eight-year-old (that's the minimum age) a bit of kit and let them smash the place up for 15 or 30 minutes, overalls and goggles provided. It's not cheap at £24.50 for a quarter hour, and worth knowing that time is shared between everyone in the room, so six people in a rage room means six people splitting that clock, not six lots of solo destruction.
Beyond the rage rooms there's a proper spread of stuff to book into: Laser Quest, Activity Lanes, a Crazy Pool, interactive mini golf, an art studio, axe throwing and an arcade. It's the sort of venue where you pick a couple of activities and build an afternoon around them rather than turning up and wandering. Spectators for the rage room sit in the cafeteria, so if only one of your two kids fancies smashing crockery, the other one isn't stuck outside.
Parties are a big part of what they do, with packages running from £12.50 a head for the arcade up to £45 for the activity lanes package with pizzas thrown in, plus laser quest, bear buddy, pottery, art and slime options. Everything needs booking in advance, and it's worth reading the small print: no refunds under any circumstances, though you can make changes up to 48 hours before, or pay £2.50 for a reschedule package if you fancy the flexibility. Footwear is another one to sort before you leave the house, closed-toe and thick-soled for the rage room, no flip-flops.
Parking is the one bit of friction. There's on-street parking but it's limited, and the Sovereign Centre car park nearby is the backup if you can't find a space. Open Wednesday to Sunday, 10am until 10pm, so there's room to fit an evening rage room session in after school if you time it right.

Plan your visit
How old do kids need to be for the rage room?
Eight is the minimum age, and they mean it given the equipment involved.
How much does the rage room cost?
£24.50 a person for 15 minutes, £36 for 30 minutes. The Ultimate Rage Room is £65 per person for a full hour.
How long is a rage room session really?
The session itself is 15 or 30 minutes, but you're asked to arrive 10 minutes early for the waiver and getting kitted out. Turn up late and your time in the room gets cut, not extended.
Do we need to book ahead?
Yes, booking is required for the activities here rather than turning up on spec.
Can I cancel or change a booking?
Changes are fine up to 48 hours before, but there are no refunds under any circumstances. A £2.50 reschedule package gives you a bit more flexibility if plans change.
What do we need to wear for the rage room?
They provide overalls, goggles, gloves and a helmet, but you need to bring your own sensible closed-toe shoes with thick soles. No open-toe shoes at all.
How many people can do a rage room together?
Standard rage rooms take up to 6 players, and the Ultimate Rage Room takes up to 8. The time in the room is shared between however many of you are in there.
Where do the rest of us sit while someone's in the rage room?
Spectators sit in the cafeteria while their group has a go.
Do they do birthday parties?
Quite a few options, from £12.50 a head for the arcade party up to £45 a head for the activity lanes package with pizza. Laser quest, pottery, art, slime and bear buddy parties are also on the list.
Is there parking?
There's limited on-street parking, or the Sovereign Centre car park nearby if you can't find a space close by.
What are the opening hours?
Wednesday to Sunday, 10am to 10pm.
Can I do the rage room while pregnant?
They're upfront that it's strenuous and recommend checking with a doctor or midwife before booking.
