What it’s like

An outdoor site for paintball, quad biking, axe throwing and Nerf wars, built for kids eight and up who fancy something with a bit of grit.

This isn't a soft play with a ball pit. It's paintball, quad biking, archery and axe throwing on one outdoor site, plus air rifles, crossbows, bubble football and battle archery if the standard stuff doesn't grab them. Everything's built around instructors running you through a safety briefing first, so nobody's just handed a paintball gun and left to it.

The minimum age is 8, and that's worth taking seriously rather than as a suggestion, given what's on offer. Turn up 10 to 15 minutes before your session to get checked in against your waiver and issued a wristband. Arrive later than that and you risk missing the safety briefing, which means missing the session altogether, so don't cut it fine on the drive over.

Food is on-site only, cooked to order, with vegetarian, vegan and halal options and a kids' menu. You can bring your own birthday cake, but nothing else from outside gets past the door, and there's no alcohol on the premises at all, full stop. Parking's free, which takes the sting out of the day a bit.

Booking is online and it's a proper booking, not a turn-up-and-queue affair. Spaces for weekends and school holidays go quickly, so book ahead if you've got a date in mind. If your group's too small to fill a session, you can WhatsApp them to see if you can join another group rather than losing the slot.

Plan your visit

How old do kids need to be?

Eight and up for the activities listed. It's a firm minimum given the kit involved, not a rough guide.

Do we need to book in advance?

Yes, all bookings go through their website. Weekends and school holidays fill fast so book ahead if you can.

What if our group is too small?

You'll need to WhatsApp them to see if they can slot you in with another group rather than booking a session outright.

What time should we arrive?

10 to 15 minutes before your session starts, to get checked in and fitted with kit before the briefing.

What happens if we're late?

You could lose part of your session or miss it completely, since it starts with a safety briefing and equipment fitting. Best to build in extra time for the drive.

Is there food on site?

A café doing breakfast, lunch, pizzas, burgers and hot dogs, with vegetarian, vegan and halal options. You can't bring your own food in, but a birthday cake is fine.

Is parking available?

Free on-site parking for everyone.

Can spectators come along and just watch?

Spectators are welcome if not everyone in your group wants to take part.

Do the kids need experience first?

Instructors take beginners through everything step by step. Nobody's expected to know what they're doing beforehand.

Can we book a private session for a party?

Birthday parties and group bookings are catered for, and private sessions are possible for larger groups of 20 or more at extra cost.
