What it’s like
Woodland paintball battles with proper bases and objectives, seven games across a three hour session for over-sevens.
This is paintball played properly outdoors, in woodland game zones with hand-built bases rather than a bare warehouse. Kids team up for seven games across a three hour session, which sounds long but by the time you've done registration and the safety briefing, the actual playing time settles into a decent afternoon or evening out. Anyone under the influence or with health issues that would be made worse by the game isn't allowed to play, and the minimum age is seven.
The pricing is where you need to concentrate. Standard entry with kit hire is £9.99, but that's before you've bought a single paintball. The packs bundle it together more sensibly, the Silver Pack at £24.99 gets you entry, kit and 300 paintballs, and the site reckons 300 to 500 balls is about right for a half day session, so that's the one to look at rather than paying separately for everything. Add-ons like armoured gloves or an M4 upgrade are extra again, and the grenades are over-18s only, so factor in what your group actually wants before you get to the till.
Food is the other thing to sort in advance. There's no lunch provided since it's a half day session, just light snacks from the on-site shop, and they're upfront about recommending you eat before or after rather than expecting to be fed there. You can bring your own food and drink, cake included if it's a birthday, just no alcohol. Evening sessions run April to September only and you have to book those by phone rather than turning up, so don't expect to just show up on a whim.
Rain doesn't stop play here unless the Met Office says otherwise, which is fair enough given it's woodland combat rather than a delicate day out. The no-refunds policy stings a bit if plans change, you get a credit note instead, so it's worth being fairly sure of your date before booking.

Plan your visit
How old do kids need to be to play?
Seven and up. Groups are organised by similar ages, so a solo seven-year-old isn't left playing against adults.
How much does it cost?
Entry with kit hire is £9.99, but you'll want a paintball pack on top. The Silver Pack at £24.99 covers entry, kit and 300 paintballs, which is roughly what they recommend per player.
How long is a session?
Three hours, with seven games played across that time. Allow extra on top for registration and the safety briefing.
Do we need to book?
Yes, all sessions need booking in advance by phone. Evening sessions especially can't be walked into.
Is there food on site?
Only light snacks from the shop, no proper meals. Bring your own food and eat before or after the session.
Can we bring a birthday cake?
Bring your own cake and they'll bring it out and sing Happy Birthday. Just book it as a party on the booking page.
What happens if it rains?
Sessions carry on regardless of weather. They only stop if the Met Office advises against it for safety.
Can my child come without a group?
Players are grouped by similar age so a solo booking still gets slotted in with others to play against.
What if we can't make the booked date?
You get a credit note for a future date rather than a refund. Cancellations aren't refunded, so pick a date you're confident about.
Are dogs allowed?
Animals on site apart from assistance dogs, and they need to stay on a lead in base camp.
