The Hut Youth Hub and Community Centre
WHERE
Castleford
What it’s like
A youth hub with a roller disco, a bowling alley and a sports hall under one roof, open weekdays till 9pm.
Three different things to do here rather than one, which makes it easier to keep a mixed group happy. The roller disco is the obvious pull, but there's a bowling alley too and a sports hall for whoever gets bored of both. No need to pick just one activity and stick with it all afternoon.
It's open Monday to Friday, 8am to 9pm, so there's room to fit it around school pickup or go straight after breakfast in the holidays. That's a long window compared to most places that shut at five, which is handy if you're trying to avoid the after-school rush.
Parking's free and onsite, which takes one thing off the list when you're already juggling skates and kids. There's wifi too.
There's no booking link listed. Worth bearing in mind if you're planning a trip for a specific time and don't want to find it busy.
