What it’s like

Four floors of soft play plus an indoor roller rink, with a baby zone for the under-twos and socks compulsory throughout.

The soft play here is the big draw, four storeys of it, with twisty slides and climbing zones that'll keep a seven or eight-year-old busy for a proper stretch. There's a dedicated baby area too, so if you've got a six-month-old and a school-age one in tow, both ends of the visit are covered without anyone getting flattened by the big kids.

The roller rink is the bit that sets this place apart from your average soft play barn. A Skate & Play ticket gets you both, and at £8 on weekends or in the holidays it's not much more than soft play alone, so it seems the obvious upgrade if your child's steady enough on skates to give it a go. Socks are compulsory in the soft play, which is a small faff if you forget yours, but not exactly a surprise for the format.

Thursday and Friday mornings have a Toddler & Tots session for £5, which is worth knowing if you're trying to avoid the after-school rush. That rush itself runs Thursday and Friday too, with soft play or skate tickets from £7.50 to £8.95, and a meal deal option if you'd rather not think about food twice. World Street Kitchen does over 50 mains alongside sandwiches and paninis.

Parking is free with over 120 spaces on site, which is one less thing to budget for on a day when everything else is priced separately. It's about two miles out from Huddersfield town centre, and being fully indoor it's a solid pick for a wet Saturday when the park is off the table.
