What it’s like
A skatepark session for kids to try skateboards, scooters and BMX, with a Mini Riders slot for the younger ones.
This is a proper skatepark, not a soft play with wheels bolted on. Kids get on skateboards, scooters, BMX bikes or quad and inline skates, and if they don't own the gear they can borrow a helmet, skateboard or scooter free at Mini Riders sessions. That session's the one aimed at the younger crowd, running from toddler age up to about eight, which is handy if you've got a four-year-old who wants a go without getting mown down by a teenager doing tricks.
Booking's required, and it's worth doing properly rather than turning up on spec. Sessions can shift around private bookings, so the slot you fancied might not be running that day if you haven't checked ahead. You'll also need to register online before the first visit, which is a bit of admin but only a one-off.
Anyone under 12 needs an adult over 18 with them, so this isn't a drop-and-run activity, you're in it too. Hours are longer at weekends, from 9am to 9pm, and shorter on weekday evenings from 4pm, with extra daytime hours in most Leeds school holidays. There's a café on site for when small legs need a sit down.
Birthday parties get a private 1.45 hour session for up to 30 people, with skatepark use, equipment and access to the upstairs café space for 1.5 hours. You can bring your own food, drink and cake, which saves a fortune, though electrical equipment isn't allowed at parties, so leave the speaker at home.
