The Enterprise Club

What it’s like

An over-18s social club with trips out to the theatre and bowling, plus minibus pickup for anyone nearby.

This one's for adults only, so if you've clicked through hoping for an after-school club for the kids, this isn't it. It's an over-18s social setup built around getting out and doing things together, rather than sitting about.

The two things they mention are theatre trips and bowling, which between them cover a fairly good spread of nights out: sit-down entertainment for when you fancy watching something, and a more active evening when you'd rather be up and having a go yourself. There's a cafe on site too, so you're not stuck for a drink or a snack before or after whatever's on.

Getting there looks to have been properly thought through. They run wheelchair-accessible minibuses that will pick up within an eight mile radius, which is the kind of detail that matters a lot more than it sounds if you don't drive or use a wheelchair yourself. It also means you don't need to sort your own transport for the theatre or bowling trips, since presumably that's part of the same pickup.
