What it’s like

Pumpkin picking, farm animals and a synthetic ice rink, plus axe-throwing if the kids fancy something sharper.

The five-acre pumpkin field is the main event, and it's exactly as muddy as a working farm field should be after rain, so wellies over trainers. Admission gets you into the field and the indoor pumpkin barn, plus the animals and the Halloween displays for photos, but the pumpkins themselves cost extra, from around £3 depending on size. Worth budgeting for on top of the ticket price rather than assuming it's all included.

Eco-Skating on the synthetic rink is booked as an add-on, cheaper in advance at £10 combined with admission than the £6.50 on-the-day top-up, and skate aids are £2.50 if your three-year-old needs the extra wobble support. Axe-throwing runs in a separate supervised area, £3 for kids and £4 for adults, with proper age-appropriate kit for the younger ones. Between the skating, the throwing and the maze, it's easy to see a visit stretching well past the field and the pumpkins.

Arrival slots run every 15 minutes between 10am and 4pm, and that's your window to turn up rather than a deadline to leave by. Booking ahead is strongly recommended since popular weekend and half-term slots do sell out, and turning up late means they'll try to fit you in but can't promise it. The street-food and bar area opens from 10am with loaded chips, smashed burgers and hot chocolate, and under-12s need an adult with them throughout.

It runs whatever the ground throws at it, more or less. The barn itself is under cover for wet days, so a rainy visit still gets you the indoor pumpkin picking and the food area, even if the field itself turns to soup. Free parking on site, and dogs are welcome on a short lead if you fancy bringing one along for the walk round.

Plan your visit

How much does it cost?

General admission is £5, or £19 for a family bundle of two adults and two kids. Eco-Skating adds £10 to admission if booked in advance, or £6.50 on the day.

Do we need to book ahead?

Booking's strongly recommended, especially for weekend and half-term slots which can sell out. A few tickets may be sold on the day if there's space left, but it's not guaranteed.

What time do we need to arrive?

Arrival slots run every 15 minutes from 10am to 4pm, and that's your window to arrive rather than a strict finish time. Turning up more than 10 minutes early isn't recommended, and if you're late they'll try to get you in but can't promise it.

Are the pumpkins included in the ticket?

No, pumpkins are bought separately once you're in the field, starting from around £3 depending on size and variety.

Is it suitable for a three-year-old?

Eco-Skating starts from age three, and the field, animals and pumpkin barn are all pitched as a gentle, playful day rather than anything genuinely scary.

What's the axe-throwing setup for kids?

Kids get their own supervised area with age-appropriate equipment for £3, separate from the adult axe-throwing which is 18 and over and £4.

What happens if it rains?

It carries on. The barn's undercover so you can still pick pumpkins and get food indoors, and they'd only cancel for genuinely unsafe conditions, in which case you'd be offered a transfer or refund.

Is there food on site?

A street-food and bar area from 10am with loaded chips, smashed burgers, wraps and hot drinks, plus alcoholic drinks for adults. You buy it separately from your ticket, no table booking needed.

Can we bring a pushchair or wheelchair?

The barn, indoor pumpkin area and food zone are all accessible, but the outdoor field is natural grass and gets uneven and muddy, which makes it harder going for manual wheelchairs and lightweight pushchairs.

Are dogs allowed?

Well-behaved dogs are welcome on a short lead, kept away from the farm animals and food areas.

Is parking free?

Free parking on site.

Are babies free?

Babies under 12 months go free, but anyone 12 months or older needs a paid ticket.
