What it’s like
A pool, snooker and beer-pong hall in Chinatown for over-8s, with food served until 6am.
This one's tables, not screens. American pool, snooker, English pool, air hockey, darts, ping-pong and beer-pong tables fill the place, so it suits a kid who wants to actually play something rather than watch a machine flash at them. It's aimed squarely at older children though, no under-8s at all, and the site is clear that anyone above that age has to be supervised by an adult the whole time.
The age rules get fiddlier the older your kids get. Under-18s are only in from 12pm to 8pm with an adult over 18, and have to be out by 9pm regardless. Under-16s are barred from the Chinese 8-ball and Predator tables and can't get into the Diamond & Whisky lounge at all, so if you've got a group spanning young teens and older ones, expect a bit of table-shuffling.
Food runs right through until 6am, burgers, pizzas, chicken, sharing platters, nachos and bao, with allergy info at the bar. You can't bring your own food or even a bottle of water in though, everything has to be bought there. Getting in is via stairs, which is worth knowing if anyone in your party needs step-free access.
Table bookings need making in advance, and they're strict about it: cancel within 24 hours and you lose the money, and if you're late they only hold your table for 15 minutes. There's also a deposit against damage, and the charges are steep if things go wrong, up to £200 for a spill and £150 if a UK pool cloth gets torn.
