What it’s like
Four floors of bowling, karaoke, pool and arcade games in Newcastle city centre, but it's an evening venue after 7pm.
Bowling's the anchor here, twelve neon-lit lanes including some private ones, and from there you can bolt on darts, pool, shuffleboard, karaoke or a go on the cricket batting cages. Off-peak the pricing works in tiers: £13 gets you bowling plus one other game, £18 stretches to three games, £21 to four. If your crew can't agree on one activity, that ladder is the sensible way to do it rather than paying per game separately.
The arcade side is proper walk-up-and-play, no booking needed, just pay and go. Bowling, karaoke and pool are a different story though, the site is upfront that weekends fill up and booking ahead is the smart move if you don't want to be stood around waiting. Worth knowing before you commit: all bookings are non-refundable and can't be moved to a later date, so pick a day you're actually confident about.
Here's the one that catches people out with kids: it's over 18s only after 7pm, and anyone under 14 needs constant adult supervision throughout. So this is really a daytime or early-evening trip with children, not an after-dark one. Food's on-site, pizzas, burgers, hot dogs and sharing platters, so you're not having to leave for lunch between games.
It's slap in the middle of Newcastle city centre and easy to get to by Metro, bus or on foot, which matters if you're not driving in. Hours run late, 11am to midnight most nights and 1am on Fridays and Saturdays, though school holidays and Bank Holidays shift things around a bit.
