What it’s like
A free local library with toilets, wifi and the odd Lego event to break up a rainy afternoon.
Free to walk into, and there's no ticket or booking to sort before you go. It's a proper local library rather than a big destination one, so the pull is simple: books to browse, somewhere to sit out of the weather, and wifi if you need to get anything done while the kids pick their next read.
The bit worth knowing about is the Lego events they put on for children. That's the detail to build a visit around rather than just popping in on a whim, since the rest of the week it's a normal library service.
Opening hours are a bit patchy, which is worth planning around. It's open Monday, Tuesday and Thursday from 9am to 6pm, Wednesday 9:30am to 5pm, and Saturday mornings only, 10am to 1pm. Friday and Sunday it's shut, so don't turn up expecting a weekend browse on either of those days.
There's no food listed on site, so this isn't a destination for lunch, more somewhere to fold into a morning that's already got a café or a park in it. Toilets are on hand, which matters more than it sounds like when you've got a small child and a long browse ahead of you.
