Libraries in Plymouth

Plymouth's libraries are the sort of places you duck into for an hour and end up staying for three. Devonport Library, close to the centre, is free to use with books, computers and a run of activities, though it only opens three days a week, so check which ones before you plan around it. Out at Plympton, the library keeps things simple with toilets, wifi and the odd Lego event to fill a wet afternoon. Both are free, which makes the choice more about timing than cost. Devonport suits a proper visit with computers to use alongside the books, while Plympton is the one to pop into for a quick session or a Lego afternoon with younger children. Neither charges for parking or entry, so a library trip costs nothing but the time it takes to get there.
