What it’s like

Outdoor mission-based paintball with a low-impact Miniball option for younger kids, running rain or shine most of the year.

This is proper outdoor paintball, woodland terrain and mission-based games, not an indoor arena. Ages 10 and up play Standard Paintball, while 8 to 10 year olds get Miniball, a lower-impact version with its own kit so smaller kids aren't up against full-force shots.

A session runs about three hours, split across morning and afternoon slots, and they say it goes ahead in almost all weather, so don't assume a grey sky is getting you out of it. That's a decent stretch of time for a birthday group, but it does mean you're committing the whole morning or afternoon, not popping in for an hour. Book 10 to 14 days ahead if you can, since weekends sell out fast, and last-minute slots are a phone call gamble rather than a guarantee.

Everyone under 16 needs a registration form signed by a parent or guardian, which is one more thing to sort before the day rather than on it. Parking's free on site, and there's a sheltered base camp where you can eat your own packed lunch, plus on-site shops for cold drinks, water and snacks if you forget. There's no hot food though, and it's card only, so leave the cash at home and bring an appetite that can wait until after.

Spectators can't stand pitchside on an active field, which is worth knowing if you were planning to watch from the sidelines rather than play. There's a strict zero-alcohol policy too, with no refund if you turn up under the influence, which feels fair enough for something involving flying paintballs.
