What it’s like
A free pop-up beach with sand, a pool and paid rides in the middle of the city, open all summer.
Sand, a pool and a run of rides and attractions dropped into the city centre for the summer. Getting onto the beach and into the pool costs nothing at all, so you can turn up, plant yourself on the sand and just let the kids dig about without spending a penny. The rides are where the money goes, charged per ride rather than one flat entry fee.
There's a family beach bar with live music at set session times, which is a nice touch if you fancy a sit down while the kids are on the sand, and food stalls doing crepes, Greek gyros and grills if a picnic isn't on the cards. Cards and cash both work everywhere, rides, food stalls and the bar included.
It runs from 15th July to 31st August 2026, open until 11pm most nights though the children's rides shut at 9pm, so an evening visit still works if you time it right. One thing to flag: the sand, pool, inflatables and toilets aren't fully accessible, so if that matters for your family it's worth asking security or the operations team onsite about specific rides before you queue up.
Parking is free if you use the park and ride tram stops, which all connect through to Market Square.
