Beaches & Coast in Nottingham

Nottingham isn't exactly known for its coastline, but the city centre gets its own beach every summer. Nottingham Beach sits about a kilometre from the centre, with sand, a pool and paid rides all set up for the season, and it's free to get in (bring cash as well as a card, since both are used for different bits). It's a proper city-centre stand-in for the seaside, no long drive required. If you fancy something further afield with no children in tow, there's a longer trip out to Leicester for Golden Beach Karaoke Bar, an 18+ venue with private karaoke rooms, cocktails and food brought to your table, open from 5pm to 2am. For a family day out, Nottingham Beach is the easy choice, free entry and rides you pay for as you go, all outdoors in the city. There isn't a natural coastline on this list, just these two very different takes on beach life.
