What it’s like

A city centre coffee shop with a barista workshop upstairs, though that one's for over-16s only.

This is a coffee shop first and foremost, tucked just off Market Square, and there isn't much here that's aimed at younger children. It's open long hours, from 8am on weekdays and 9am at weekends, both till 8pm, so it works as a coffee stop if you're passing through the city with a pushchair and need somewhere to sit down.

The one thing that stands out on their own list is a Barista Experience, a short class and workshop that's sometimes used for team building. It's not for kids though, the minimum age is 16, so this is one for older teenagers rather than the primary school crowd.

If you've got a coffee-mad teenager in the house, the barista class upstairs might be more their idea of a good time than yours. For anyone with younger children, treat it as a decent stop for a hot drink in town rather than an outing in itself.
