What it’s like

Free rhyme-time sessions and a full shelf of picture books, with free internet if you need to print or search for homework.

Bookbug sessions are the thing to build a visit around here. They're free, they get toddlers clapping and singing before they can talk properly, and they're a decent reason to leave the house on a grey Tuesday. Outside of that, it's a normal library setup: shelves of picture books, large print and talking books for anyone who needs them, and free internet access if the kids want to look something up or you need to print a form.

There's no cost to get in and no booking link to wrestle with, which makes it an easy one to just turn up to. The hours are a bit of a puzzle though. Monday to Wednesday you've got 10am to 5pm, Thursday it flips to an afternoon and evening slot of 2pm to 7pm, and Friday it shuts at 2pm. Closed all weekend, so this is a weekday plan only, not a Saturday morning filler.

It's wheelchair accessible, which matters if you're managing a buggy as much as a wheelchair. Don't expect a big day out here. It's more the twenty-minute stop that fits round nap times or the school run, a chance to swap books and let a toddler loose on the picture book shelf while you catch your breath.
