What it’s like
An 18+ improv comedy night in Nottingham with workshops and shows, tickets on the door.
This one's for the grown-ups. MissImp runs improvised comedy on a Thursday evening, plus a monthly session called The Improv Playground, and none of it is scripted in advance, which is either the appeal or the terror depending on your tolerance for watching people make things up on the spot.
The Thursday sessions cover short form improv games and workshops for all levels, so you don't need to have done this before. That's the honest bit worth knowing: if you've never tried improv, turning up cold to a workshop with strangers is a big ask for some people and a brilliant leveller for others. There's no audition, no experience required, and the format is built to include beginners rather than showcase people who've been doing it for years.
Tickets are on the door and it's pay what you feel for the workshops, which takes the pressure off deciding whether it's worth the money before you've seen what you're paying for. Sessions run 7:30pm to 9:30pm, two hours, which is enough time to get properly stuck in without the evening running away from you.
There's no children's version of this. The age line is 18 and over.
