What it’s like

A live events space with retractable seating for comedy and gigs, ages set per show and card payments only.

This is a live events venue that switches between seated and standing depending on what's on, so a comedy night might have you in retractable seating one week and on your feet the next. Whether a show is family friendly or strictly grown-ups comes down to the individual listing, and the venue itself is upfront that you should get in touch if you're not sure before booking for a child.

It's cashless throughout, so card only for tickets, food, drink and the cloakroom. That cloakroom is handy if you don't fancy juggling coats all night, but it's £2 an item and they only allow small essentials in anyway, no large bags.

Getting there without a car is straightforward, with the Lace Market tram stop and Nottingham Station both under a mile away and buses stopping right outside. If you are driving, Victoria Centre car park is a five-minute walk and charges a £5 evening rate, though the handful of free Blue Badge bays on Bath Street and Brook Street are worth knowing about if you qualify.

Access has clearly been thought through. There are wheelchair spaces in the mezzanine for standing gigs, and the first three rows get adjusted for seated shows, with an essential companion going free if you email ahead to arrange it. Step-free access and an accessible toilet are both in place too.

Can I bring my kids to a show here?

It depends entirely on the event, each listing states its own age restriction. If it isn't clear, they'd rather you contact them first than turn up and find out at the door.

Do I need cash?

No point bringing any, it's card only for tickets, food, drink and the cloakroom.

Is there parking nearby?

Victoria Centre car park is about 0.2 miles away and charges £5 for the evening rate. There are also a few free Blue Badge spaces on Bath Street and Brook Street.

Is it wheelchair accessible?

There are dedicated wheelchair spaces in the mezzanine for standing gigs and the front rows are adjusted for seated shows. Email ahead if you need a companion seat, as those go free.
