What it’s like

A caravan holiday village near Prestonpans with an indoor pool, go-karts, archery and ranger sessions to fill a few days.

You stay in a caravan or lodge and the site itself is the entertainment: indoor pool, a climbing wall, go-karts, and enough sessions running through the day that you could book solid without leaving the park. The bungee trampoline and Nerf Training Camp are the ones kids talk about after, and there's archery coaching if you fancy something a bit more focused than splashing about.

Younger ones get Activitots and Activikids, which is sport pitched at little legs rather than the full-on stuff, and there's a Football Fun Factory for the ones who'd rather kick a ball than climb anything. If you've got a family that likes making things, the creative crafts sessions cover slime, sand art, pottery and a Make a Bear session, and the Ranger activities (bushcraft, firelighting, bug hunts) are the sort of thing that sounds like a chore and turns out to be the highlight.

Caravans start at £49 for the Saver grade and climb steeply to £419 for a Diamond Lodge, so it's worth thinking about what you actually need rather than what looks nicest in the photos. Booking is £30 deposit with the cost spread out, or £60 upfront with the balance due 10 weeks before you arrive, which gives you time to save without the full hit up front.

Food-wise there's a proper spread, sit-down restaurants, takeaways, and branded names like Burger King and Costa Coffee, ordered through an app or by scanning a QR code at your table. Wheelchair users are looked after with flat areas near the main facilities, a hoist and pool wheelchair at the indoor pool, and a beach wheelchair free to hire, though some of the accommodation areas further back are genuinely hilly so it's worth knowing which part of the park you're in before you book.
