What it’s like

Indoor karting, bowling and a VR arena under one roof, with a pick-three pass if you can't choose.

This is the sort of place where nobody agrees on what to do first. There's indoor karting, ten pin bowling, an AR darts wall, urban street golf and batting cages, plus a Hologate VR arena and a Pixel Hyperfloor that reacts under your feet. A Gamebox room and karaoke are tucked in for when someone needs a sit down that still counts as an activity.

The MAX3 Pass at £28.50 gets you three activities, which is the sensible way in if you've got a group with different favourites. There's also a MAX Family Pass at £38, and a Wednesday Play Pass at the same price as the MAX3 if that day suits better. Individually the karting is £15.25 and bowling is £10.99, so the passes start to make sense once more than one activity is on the cards.

Opening hours shift about depending on term time. In term, weekdays open at 11am, Saturdays at 10am and run to 11pm, Sundays 10am to 10pm. In the school holidays everything opens earlier at 10am, and Fridays through the weekend stretch to 11pm. Worth checking which pattern applies before you fix on a time, since a term-time weekday start is an hour later than you might assume.

Birthday parties and group bookings are both catered for, and there's on-site food if you don't want to leave once you're in. School trips run at £9.95, which is a fair bit less than the standard activity prices. Adults get their own version of the night out too, with an Ultimate Adult Party Experience at £36 and shuffleboard booked out in 30-minute exclusive slots for £23.25.
