What it’s like

Play and activity centre with an arcade to finish off, open till late in the holidays if you want to make an evening of it.

Kids get the run of a play and activity centre here, with attractions to work through and the Bright Spot Family Arcade as the last stop once the legs give out. It's pitched at under-12s, so there's enough going on to hold a seven-year-old's attention without it feeling like it's built entirely for toddlers.

Hours shift with the calendar, which catches people out. Term time weekdays it opens at 1pm, but school holidays and weekends it's open from 11am, running through to 7pm or later in summer. Last entry is 4pm regardless, so an after-school dash needs to be an early one, not a last-minute one.

There's no booking system for a normal visit, which is one less thing to organise on a Saturday morning. Parties are a different story, £10 a child for the full day, and private hire is on offer if you want the place to yourselves. That flat rate for parties is decent value next to the sort of places that charge per hour and then again for food.

Plan your visit

Do we need to book?

Not for a normal visit. Parties and private hire are the exception, those you'll want to sort in advance.

What are the opening hours?

1pm start on term time weekdays, 11am on school holidays, weekends and bank holidays. Summer holidays it stays open later.

What time is last entry?

4pm, so plan an after-school visit for straight after school rather than early evening.

How much are parties?

£10 per child, and that covers the full day rather than a fixed slot. Private hire is available too if you want the run of the place.

What age is it suited to?

It's aimed at under-12s. The arcade gives older kids in that range something to do once they've had enough of the main attractions.
