What it’s like

A board game and trading card café where you pay £5 to play from a big library of games and join in weekly tournaments.

This is a pay-to-play spot for kids who are past the arcade machines and into proper games. There's a large library of board games to work through, from the usual family stuff up to heavier ones like Settlers of Catan and Talisman, plus tables set up for trading card games. If your kid has a Pokémon or Magic deck they're desperate to use against someone other than a sibling, this is where that happens.

It's £5 to play, which is decent value if you settle in for a couple of hours rather than popping in for twenty minutes. There's a café on site doing food, so you're not having to leave and come back if a game runs long. Weekly events and tournaments run too, which is the bit that'll matter most if your child is into card games and wants some proper competition rather than just casual play.

The catch is that most of the organising, booking tables and arranging games, happens through their Discord server rather than by turning up and hoping. That's a bit of a faff if you're not used to it. Opening hours are evenings on weekdays, from 5pm, and the full day at weekends from midday.

There's no age range given, so use your judgement on whether your child's ready for a room full of strategy games and card trading, but it reads as more of a spot for kids old enough to follow game rules and hold their own in a tournament than a toddler activity.
