What it’s like

Real axe throwing with an instructor on every lane, built for kids from 10 who fancy something a bit sharper than a soft play party.

You're not watching this one from the sidelines. Every lane gets its own target, its own instructor, and up to six players learning proper axe throwing technique before they start scoring against each other. It's a safety brief first, then the throwing, then the instructor keeps things running and the scores climbing, which takes the pressure off any parent trying to referee a group of ten-year-olds themselves.

The age cut-off is firm at 10, so this isn't one for younger siblings, and there's no getting round it by having them sit and watch either, spectators aren't allowed in at all. If you've got a mixed-age family booked, someone under 10 is going to need a babysitter rather than a seat on the bench. Closed-toe shoes are non-negotiable too, flip flops will get you turned away, so it's trainers or nothing.

At £15 for a child aged 10 to 15 and £25 for anyone 16 and up, it's priced more like an activity day than a birthday soft play, and you're paying in full when you book rather than putting down a deposit. Groups too big for one lane just get split across more, so a bigger birthday party isn't a problem, it just means booking multiple start times together. They do want you there 10 minutes early to check in, and same-day tickets can work if there's availability, though they're usually pulled from sale two hours before the session starts so it's not one to leave to the last minute.

It runs every day from half ten in the morning to nine at night, and alongside birthday parties they do hen and stag dos and corporate bookings too if you're after something for the grown-ups later on.

Plan your visit

How much does it cost?

£15 for a child aged 10 to 15, £25 for anyone 16 and over. You pay in full when you book, there's no deposit option.

Do we need to book in advance?

They strongly recommend it. Same-day tickets are sometimes available but usually taken off sale two hours before the session starts.

What age can take part?

10 and up. There's no facility for younger kids to spectate either, only ticket holders are allowed in.

What should we wear?

Closed-toe shoes that cover the whole foot, no flip flops or sandals. Flat shoes are what they recommend for throwing in.

Can we book a birthday party?

Yes, birthday parties are on offer alongside hen and stag dos and corporate events. Groups too big for one lane just get split across more lanes at the same time.

Can I bring a group that won't all fit on one lane?

That's fine, you'll be split across multiple lanes and you pick your start times when booking.
