What it’s like

A locked-room puzzle hour that suits older kids and teens more than younger ones, with a strict 10-and-up sensibility.

You've got an hour in the room, working through puzzles and tasks as a team to get out, with a briefing before and photos after. The site is upfront that under-10s will likely struggle with the puzzle logic, so this isn't one for a family with a five-year-old tagging along. It suits an older kid who fancies themselves a bit of a detective, or a group of teens after something that isn't just a trampoline park.

Budget the full hour and a half, not just the hour of actual game time. Fifteen minutes gets eaten by the safety briefing before you start, and another ten or fifteen for the de-brief and photos afterwards, so don't book it tight against something else that day. At £25 a head for adults and £20 for under-18s, it adds up fast for a family of four, and the Cowboy's Heist room has a £70 minimum for two players regardless.

Anyone under 16 needs an adult actually in the room with them, and 16 and 17 year olds need one somewhere on the premises, which is worth factoring in if you're dropping a group of teens off and nipping out for coffee. The rooms are big and the doors aren't locked, so if claustrophobia's a worry for your child, they can step out any time. There's no dress code, nothing physical required, and they'll even bring a chair in if anyone needs to sit down mid-game.

One genuine catch: it's not wheelchair accessible. There's a step up from the pavement and the games themselves involve stairs and tight doorways, so this one's off the list if that's a factor for your group. Parking's the St Peter's multi-storey opposite the Vue cinema, open all hours, or there's metered parking on the street nearby.

Plan your visit

How much does it cost?

£25 per adult, £20 per child aged 17 and under. That covers the briefing, the hour in the room and photos at the end.

How long should we allow?

An hour and a half all told. It's a 15 minute briefing, an hour in the game, then 10 to 15 minutes for photos and a de-brief.

What age is this suitable for?

There's no strict age limit, but anyone under 10 will likely find the puzzles too much of a stretch. Under-16s need an adult playing with them, and 16 to 17 year olds need an adult somewhere on site.

Do we need to book?

Yes, you'll need to book ahead rather than turn up on spec.

Is it wheelchair accessible?

There's a step from the pavement into the venue and the games involve stairs and tight doorways.

Can you do birthday parties or bigger groups?

They take groups from 2 up to 34 players, so it works for a birthday group as well as a couple or a family.
