What it’s like
An hour locked in a themed room with a team, working puzzles to find the way out before time runs out.
You get sixty minutes and one job: solve the puzzles fast enough to get the door open again. There are three themes to pick from, Conflict Of Kings, The Steampunk Express and The Star of Orion, and each one's built around a team working things out together rather than one person cracking it alone. This isn't really one for younger kids. The site is upfront that the puzzles are pitched at adults and older teens, and anyone under 12 is going to struggle.
The age rules are worth knowing before you book. Under-14s need an adult with them in the room, and 15 to 16 year olds have to be signed in by an adult or they won't be let in at all. So this works better as a treat for a 13-year-old's birthday with a parent playing along than a session to drop the kids off at.
Teams of 4 to 6 are what the games are designed for, and they're honest that two players will find it a lot harder going, with two-player games not even bookable on Saturdays or the 7:30pm slot. Prices run from £20 for a child up to £24 for an adult, with a two-player game priced at £55 flat. Rooms are all on the ground floor and wheelchair accessible, though a few puzzles are wall-mounted and might need a hand from someone else in the group.
It's a nine-minute walk from Leamington Spa station through the pump room gardens if you're coming by train, and there's a surface car park right next to the building plus a multi-storey a minute away if you're driving.

How much does it cost?
£24 for an adult, £20 for a child, £22 for students. A two-player game is a flat £55.
What age is this suitable for?
There's no strict cut-off but the puzzles are aimed at adults and older teenagers, and under-12s will find it tough. Under-14s must have an adult with them, and 15 to 16 year olds need an adult to sign them in.
How long does a game last?
An hour, and that's the whole session, no faffing about with instructions eating into your time.
Can we play with just two of us?
You can, but the rooms are built for teams of 4 to 6 so it's a lot harder with two. Two-player games aren't available on Saturdays or at the 7:30pm slot.
Is it claustrophobic?
Rooms are 150 to 200 square feet, bigger than most rooms in a house, with no crawl spaces. The door can be opened at any time or left ajar if someone needs out.
Is there parking nearby?
There's a surface car park right next to the building and the St Peters multi-storey is under a minute's walk away.
