What it’s like

Get to grips with a curling stone or a floor curling set on real ice, aimed at kids from eight up.

This is proper curling, the sliding-stones-down-ice sport you half remember from the Winter Olympics, and kids get to try it themselves rather than just watch it on telly. There's floor curling too if the full ice version feels like a big ask for a first go. It's not a sport many kids will have tried before, which is exactly the appeal if you've got one who's bored of the usual soft play and trampoline park circuit.

The age minimum is eight, so this isn't one for younger siblings to tag along and join in with. Older kids who like a bit of a challenge, or ones who've caught curling on the telly and fancy a go, are the obvious fit here.

Parking is free on site and there are two paid EV charging points if you need one. If you'd rather not drive, the tram stops at Balgreen and Murrayfield are both about a 15 minute walk away. One thing worth knowing: the car park occasionally closes during big rugby events at Murrayfield Stadium nearby, so it's worth having a plan B for getting there if there's a match on that day.
