What it’s like

Cheap swims, junior gym sessions and sports hall time, with under-5s in the pool for a pound.

Swimming is the thing to build a visit round here. Under 5s pay £1, which is about as low as pool prices get, and juniors and teens are £4.20 if you fancy proper lengths rather than a splash about. There's a family ticket too, £16.20 for two adults and two juniors, and it beats paying for everyone separately if you're all going in.

Once they're out of the water there's more on offer. The gym has a junior rate for 14 to 17 year olds, and there are fitness classes with a teen price for the same age group, so this side of the centre suits older kids more than little ones. Sports hall activities are listed too, which is worth knowing if your lot are more into football or badminton than swimming.

Weekday hours are generous, 6am to 10pm, but weekends are shorter, 8am to 3pm, so a lazy Sunday morning swim needs planning round that cut-off. Parking's free on site, which takes one cost out of the day, and there's a ramp entrance, a pool hoist and disabled changing facilities if you need them. Assistance dogs are welcome too.

There's no booking link listed, so it looks like you can turn up rather than reserve a slot, though it's worth having cash or a card ready for the desk since junior and teen prices vary quite a bit across the different activities.
