Ben's Farm Shop
WHERE
Plymouth
What it’s like
A farm shop café with breakfast, proper lunches and a picnic area, open every day near Plymouth.
This one's more about the café than a big day out. Breakfast runs from 9am to 11:45am, then lunch takes over until 3pm, with homemade cakes and scones going all day alongside local wines and ciders if you fancy something for the adults too. There's a takeaway deli counter as well, open until 4pm, handy if you want to grab something and eat it in the picnic area rather than sit in.
It's open every day, 9am to 6pm Monday to Saturday and a bit shorter on Sundays at 10am to 5pm, so there's no need to plan around a single session time. The site is wheelchair accessible and there's parking and toilets on site, which makes it an easy stop if you've got a buggy or just don't fancy a faff.
Nobody's pretending this is a theme park. There's no booking link. If your children are happy pottering and eating scones, you'll get a good couple of hours out of it without spending much on entertainment because there isn't really any laid on.
