What it’s like
Pick your own pumpkins on a haunted trail, walk a summer sunflower field, or take a lakeside stroll with the dog on a lead.
There's a proper spread of ways to spend a few hours here depending on the season. Autumn means the pumpkin patch with its Haunted Trail woven through, and in summer the same fields turn over to a sunflower trail that most people take 45 to 60 minutes to walk, stopping for photos along the way. Outside of both, there are lakeside walks and woodland trails with cliffside views, and if you fancy learning something new the Big Green Egg masterclasses run as proper hands-on sessions.
Everyone needs a ticket, for the pumpkin patch and the sunflower trail both, which is a bit of a faff if you're used to just turning up, but it does mean the fields don't get overrun. Worth knowing tickets are non-refundable, so it's worth being sure of your slot before you book, though they may be able to shift you to a different time if there's space.
The ground is the honest catch here. Both the pumpkin fields and the sunflower trail run across uneven, sometimes soft terrain. They do have two Beach Wheelchairs, a Hippocampe for children and a Debug for adults, but these need booking in advance for 60-minute slots and you'll need to be able to self-transfer or have a carer help.
Dogs are welcome on a lead around the lakes, though the pumpkin patch keeps a dog-free area and they're honest that a dog nervous around crowds or other dogs might be happier left at home. There's a café, HERD, though it runs seasonally and around events rather than being open year round, and it's best to book a table when things are busy. Parking is free in a grass paddock next to the patch, with accessible parking available if you flag it on arrival.

Plan your visit
Do we need to book tickets in advance?
Yes, for the pumpkin patch and the sunflower trail everyone needs a ticket to manage numbers. They're non-refundable, though you might be able to move your slot if there's availability.
How long does the sunflower trail take?
Most people take 45 to 60 minutes, depending on how fast you walk and how many photo stops you make.
Is it OK for a wheelchair or buggy?
The ground across the pumpkin fields and sunflower trail is uneven and sometimes soft, so it's not great for buggies. Two Beach Wheelchairs are available for the sunflower trail but need booking ahead for a 60-minute slot.
Can we bring the dog?
Dogs are welcome on a lead around the lakes. The pumpkin patch has a dog-free area, and if your dog gets nervous around crowds it might be best left at home.
Is there somewhere to eat?
HERD café is on site but runs seasonally and around events rather than year round. Booking a table is a good idea when it's busy, though walk-ins are often possible.
What about parking?
Free parking in a grass paddock next to the pumpkin patch, with accessible parking if you let the team know when you arrive.
