Go-Karting in London

Most of the indoor tracks sit inside London itself. The London Karting Co, close to the centre, has kids racing real karts with speeds capped by age and a staff commentator calling the laps like a proper Grand Prix. TeamSport's Docklands track takes ages 4 to 99 and throws in a motorsport-themed mini golf course, while its North London site in Edmonton races a nine-corner circuit and has crazy golf too. K1 Speed at Canary Wharf runs electric junior karts hitting 20mph for age 7 and up. For younger children, look for a Mini Racer session: Mitcham offers one for kids not yet tall enough for the real track, and Harlow runs one for 4 to 7 year olds before proper racing kicks in from age 8. TeamSport Watford, out at Bushey, covers ages 4 to 16 on its multi-level track. If you fancy watching rather than driving, Brands Hatch near Sevenoaks lets under-13s in free and has a grandstand, though it is a longer trip out from the centre.
